It’s hard to believe that it has been two weeks already.
I finished the three-day fast. By the third day, the plaques were much improved, and the arthritis pain was nearly gone. I was walking without a limp. Just three days of fasting cleared up the plaques more than about five or six weeks of topical medication.
Unfortunately, my condition started getting worse again after I started eating. I tried alternate day calorie restriction, but was still having problems.
A few days ago, I started to eat normal amounts of food, though still eating only nutrient dense, whole food, mostly-vegan items. I did have a little bit of smoked salmon, some pickled herring, and a little chicken liver, but other than that, it has all been vegan.
I stopped the calorie restriction, because I plan to do another fast this weekend for five days to see if I can make more progress than last time.
Even if I were going to start with the methotrexate, I think that I need to talk to the doctor first, because I have a low grade cough, and I don’t know if that medication should be taken until it’s gone.
I also purchased a book called, Fasting and Eating for Health, by Joel Fuhrman. There is a chapter in there with references to many studies about fasting in the immune system. I have a lot of reading to do.
